As August closes, it’s time to recount the songs that we couldn’t escape from this summer. Billboard awarded Robin Thicke the Song of the Summer, with “Blurred Lines” reigning at the top of the charts for 12 weeks VMA voters disagreed, tweeting and uploading Vine videos to make One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” the best song of the summer.
