Justin Timberlake’s Wife Allegedly ‘Embarrassed’ About DWI Arrest

According to sources close to the actress, the unfortunate incident has left her feeling “embarrassed” and unhappy.

Despite her disappointment, Jessica Biel has reportedly vowed to support Justin Timberlake, even though they have yet to see each other since his arrest.

According to the Daily Mail, a source close to the “Total Recall” actress has shared that she is unhappy about her husband’s recent run-in with the law.

Biel was also in New York City, where she’s filming her new Prime Video series, “The Better Sister,” miles away from Sag Harbor, Long Island, where Timberlake was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

The insider noted that Biel is “embarrassed” but hopes that the incident inspires him to reduce his alcohol intake.

She’s also understood to be grateful that he’s alive and came out unscathed but is afraid that something terrible may happen in the future if he doesn’t control and turn a new leaf.

“Jessica is disappointed but he is her husband so she is by his side and will have his back through all of it,” the tipster noted. “She would like Justin to curb his drinking, so he never gets into a situation like this ever again. She is treating it like a slap on the wrist and is hoping that it doesn’t lead to anything more severe in the future.”

Biel was seen out and about her job moments before Timberlake was arrested. An insider told People magazine that she sees the incident as a “distraction” and that “she’s not happy” about it.

“She had to film yesterday. She doesn’t like any attention on the family, especially not negative,” the source shared.

The source went further to confirm that Biel “loves” Timberlake and “will always” support him.

“He’s a great dad and husband,” the tipster added.

The couple got married in 2012 and share two children; sons Silas, six, and Phineas, four. They’ve reportedly not seen each other since Timberlake was arrested but have managed to talk over FaceTime.

“Jessica and Justin have talked over FaceTime and have texted but with her work schedule and his upcoming tour dates, they haven’t physically gotten together to talk about it, but she has his back,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“They will get together soon once she has time off from filming as she intends to support him on a couple of future shows,” they added.

The “Sexyback” singer was arrested and charged for driving while intoxicated in the early hours of Tuesday.

He allegedly ran through a stop sign in Sag Harbor, Long Island, and swerved through the road in his 2025 BMW.

Charging documents stated that he refused to take a breathalyzer test three times and also performed poorly on the officer’s sobriety test, with the document adding that his eyes were “bloodshot and glassy” and a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath.”

Timberlake’s mugshot has also been released, confirming that he had “bloodshot” and “glassy” eyes.

Sag Harbor Village Police Chief Robert Drake released a statement about the singer’s arrest on Tuesday.

“On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel,” the statement read.

It continued, “A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.”

“Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment. Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM where he was released on his own recognizance,” the statement concluded.

Ahead of his virtual Sag Harbor court appearance on July 26, Timberlake’s attorney, Edwin Burke Jr., vowed to “vigorously” defend himself against the allegations.

“I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations,” Burke told Deadline in a statement. “I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office.”

If convicted of the charges, he faces up to a year in jail. However, a Suffolk County criminal defense lawyer, Michael Brown, has shared that he’s unlikely to secure the maximum sentence.

Brown predicted that Burke would seemingly appeal for a lesser charge of driving while ability impaired (DWAI), which comes with a maximum penalty of 15 days in jail or a fine of up to $500.

“That’s a violation as opposed to a crime,” Brown said per New York Post, adding that the charge comes with only a maximum penalty of 15 days in jail, but noting, “It won’t happen. What will happen is a fine of up to $500.”
