Ka-Bar “Zomstro” Zombie Chopper…just in case a zombie apocalypse breaks out

Zombies happen to be part of the undead “family” that does not really strike fear into the hearts of the masses, not unless they start stumbling out in a large group, that is. Of course, where you augment them with super speed just as you find in World War Z, then those are definitely a terrifying bunch to deal with. Let’s just say that should a zombie apocalypse happens one fine day, leaving you with a Walking Dead scenario, then you would do well to be proficient in hand-to-hand combat and weapons, as you would want to dispatch of these brain loving undead quietly …

The Pavlov Poke Gives You an Electric Shock If You Spend Too Much Time on Facebook

How many hours do you spend on the Internet a day? I think it’s safe to say that you’ve got a problem–or more like an addiction, really–if it’s more than half the total time you’re awake. Why spend your time cooped up indoors, looking at pictures of people doing all sorts of fun things that you could otherwise be doing? With this in mind, MIT PhD students Robert Morris and Dan McDuff came up with the Pavlov Poke. The name is misleading, though, because their contraption doesn’t just poke you. It actually gives you an electric shock if you&#…

The Living Cube

You have one of two options (depending on how fat your wallet) when you’re getting a new place: You can go bigger and live away from the city & the action, or you can get an apartment/closet and be in the heart of it all. Till Konneker opted for a “cozy” studio apartment but immediately put the lack of space to work for him with The Living Cube. The cube he built holds his TV, clothes, shoes, and vinyl collection …

LG has confirmed that it is once again stepping into the tablet market after nearly two years. Earlier today the company posted a teaser video for the LG G Pad tablet. A purported render of the 8.3 inch G Pad has surfaced online which shows off what is supposedly LG’s upcoming tablet. The design similarities between LG’s latest flagship smartphone, the LG G2 and its upcoming tablet are evident in this render. Though it should be kept in mind that this render comes from an unofficial source, so the end…

Siri is now giving snarky responses to users who give the attention signal used by Google Glass users, ‘Okay Glass’. Earlier this year, users noticed that Siri was responding to extremely long queries with various quotes on brevity. Apple also posted a job listing in the January looking for writers to enhance Siri’s wit and personality. Google+ may not be the premier destination for photo sharing, but its devotees know just how wonderful Party Mode’s collaborative albums are. Amazon’s expansion primes Seattle economic growth

Amazon is constructing a new headquarters in Seattle, Washington, but the company’s impact there may be a lot bigger than putting in a few impressive buildings. According to The New York Times, Seattle’s South Lake Union is turning from a drab warehouse district into a thriving hub of workers and food carts, all converging on the location thanks to Amazon’s wealth of employees who are already in the area. “South Lake Union was a place that people drove through, not to,” John Schoettler, Amazon’s real estate director, tells the Times. “Once we started development there, everything started to spring up around us.” Apartment complexes are shooting up nearby too, and other technology companies are trying to…

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70 Review

What a whopper! It looks like a compact digital camera but sure as hell offers far more than your average CDC. The 60x zoom runs all the way up to a 35 SLR equivalent of 1200mm but — note this! — it begins from a super wide 20mm equivalent. That means you can shoot close shots of sports players from the sidelines and then cover cramped interiors with the same camera. You can also buy a 1.7x tele conversion lens that will take the focal length to 2040mm! Beat that! The maximum image size is 4608×3456 pixels, large enough to make a 34x…
