Ryan Reynolds could never hit ignore on Blake Lively.
Even when taking over hosting duties on Jimmy Kimmel Live! alongside Hugh Jackman, the Deadpool & Wolverine star made sure to pick up his wife’s phone call as Hugh attempted to tell a personal story about his late father.
As Ryan put it, “We always promised each other we’d answer in the middle of something.”
“Hi baby,” Blake told Ryan over the phone. “Is now an okay time?”
But instead of turning down the It Ends With Us star—with whom he shares kids James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and Olin, born in 2023—he gave her the floor.
“No, no, no it’s fine,” Ryan quickly responded. “We’re at Kimmel’s. We’re just rehearsing. It’s rehearsal.”
Naturally, Ryan’s response gained many laughs from the audience—and a side eye from Hugh (though he seemed to be in on the interruption).
“I love you so much,” Blake responds. “I’m just bored and want to catch up.”
